| Dear Au Pair,
It will be difficult to imagine where you are going to be living for the next 12 months. We will try to make your stay in the Netherlands as pleasant as possible. Let us try to tell you what we do, where we live etc. We live in Amersfoort a town near Utrecht. This town has around 110.000 habitants. Our house was build around 1930 and is what we a call two houses under one roof. We moved to this town because our travelling distance to work was too far and taking us to much time. The house is in the old part of Amersfoort. The railway station is on a short distance (2 minutes walk). The town has a lot off historical buildings and an old centre with shops. From the house it is a short walk to the centre. We like to see our children as much as possible therefor my wive is only working four days a week and is free on Wednesday. The mother of me is living two houses further, so we have the chance to see a lot of her. Holland is famous for it's bicycles. Maybe you like to cycle. There are a lot of roads where you can cycle. Our oldest daughter is 10 years old and our son is 7 years and our youngest daughter is 4 years. They all go every day to school from 08.30 till 15.15 beside Wednesday and Friday then it is till 12.15. All the kids like to play outside in our garden but when it's too cold or raining they play inside. Simone and Melchior also like games and memory is the favorite. The days of our children have a structure. They get fruit and drinks again around 3 o'clock. Diner is around six o’clock and then after dinner it is bathing time and then to bed. We try to have dinner with the whole family. For example: meat, vegetables and potatoes. We both work. Jeroen has his own company located in Amsterdam which sells and implements makes custom made applications and converts other databases to His working area is from Amsterdam to the east. Domi is a procurement Professional in a company who has the headdam. That means she has a lot of knowlegde about outsourcing and financial matters concerning procurement. She works for different companies depending on their needs. In our free time we like to do as many activities (for example cycling) with our children as possible. We like to be around our home, cook and work in the garden. I like to restore our old car.
