| Dear Family,
Thank you so much for taking me into consideration for your search of an au pair/nanny! While I am not to say that I am the BEST candidate for your search (Honestly, I am sure there are hundreds of qualified candidates on this site. With that said, I know that I would hire me for a nanny/au pair position - continue reading and i will try to let you know why), I would love to take some time to introduce you to myself, so that you will be able to better know me.
Almost three years ago (Spring of 2006) I graduated from college with a certification in special education and elementary education. I have worked at a Christian youth camp for six years, and worked a summer at a Christian child care center. I have an enthusiasm and love for working with people (especially children and young people), connectedness, and life, rooted with a deep passion to seek Christ in all I do. I am currently a youth leader and junior/senior high Sunday school teacher at my local United Methodist Church. While I am a qualified teacher, certified to teach in a school setting, I have a passion for working on a more individualize basis. My emphasis is special education, and I have grown to love one-on-one teaching. My educational or behavioral management style is very humanistic and is very much related to the Love & Logic style of managing behavior (gentle, establishing ownership and control to the individual, etc). My responsibility as a teacher/nanny is to be an intricate factor in the growth and development of my students (or children with whom I am involved), encouraging them to be persistent LIFELONG learners. I am a mentor and teacher at heart!
I am a man of integrity -- patient, honest and trustworthy. I have very high standards and morals, which are embedded within my Christian belief and faith. I am quick to serve, slow to judge, and always willing to provide a listening ear. I am very laidback, and have a very welcoming presence and personality. I am very sensitive to the needs of others, and willing to provide assistance when and where it is needed! I have a love for sports, music, and travel – and enjoy incorporating these things, including my faith, in my teaching and interaction with others.
I was able to obtain a special education position immediately after graduation, but due to difficult financial times in Michigan and in my particular school district, I was laid off for the fall of 2007. I was then able to find a live-in position in North Atlanta (GA) assisting a young man with a handicap. Last summer (July 2008) I was called back to my school in Michigan as a fifth grade teacher. I am now exploring opportunities in the North Atlanta area again. I am hoping that you will consider me as a possible nanny/in-home educator/assistant/etc. I am willing to be a live-in to help compensate my pay.
Please consider me to be part of your family!
Thanks for reading! Please drop me an email or message on AIM; I can’t wait to hear from you!!
Blessings,
