Family's Message to Au Pairs

Our Family : Marcel, Alida (both 40) and our sons, Kasper and Michiel, 6 and (nearly) 4 years respectively. Kasper, the oldest, is a responsible boy, who loves to play, is full of humor and takes care of his younger brother. He loves to play games, and is really hard to beat at "four at a row". Be ready to play soccer with him ! Michiel, the youngest, is our artist, always joking around, yet with a sensitive personality. He will allways give away cooky\'s first, before taking one himself. A brilliant mind (i might be influenced ;) We are a small busy family, Our Oldest son Kasper is going to School (which is closeby) and Michiel will go to school in may. We also have a small pet called Zwartoogje (Cavy / Guinny Pig). Currently our boys are in day care (youngest) and extra care (post school) for our oldest. We are looking for an aupair because we would like the boys to be able to be at home after school, and play with their friends at home and have an inspiring place in playing games, crafting etc. Both boys are in good health, and we live together as a family in which attention for each other, joy in life and humor is important. We set boundaries for the boys, and we are not an "everything goes" family. At the back of our house with a seperate entrance, the company of Marcel situated, Alida is working home based and internationally respectively. We live in a small town in the north of the Netherlands (5000 inhabitants), nearby Groningen. We live in a nice house, with a nice garden around it. In our village there is library, a swimming pool (summer time only), and forests and nice places to walk closeby. The larger city nearby is Groningen, which has a university, and lots of students. It is the 8th city of the netherlands. Both Alida and i got our university degree in Groningen. In our house we have created a nice personal space for our future aupair. We provide you with internet, and of course you are able to follow a course or get some degree. We speak english, french, german (fluent) and of course dutch. We expect you to support us during rush hours, in the morning and evening and to spend time and do things with the boys after school (which is at 15:00 hours respectively 12:00 hours weekdays). In general you will do the following : - Assist in breakfast in the morning - Take the boys to school (which is a 5 min. walk) - During daytime you will do some cleaning and shopping - Picking up the boys form school and do activities and entertain/support them in the afternoons - Prepare the evening meal and/or assist in cooking. Ocassionally the boys will play at friends or have their friends over. Kasper joined soccer and needs to be brought to soccer (and picked up). In general you will support our family in a flexible way, and I and Alida will do (parts of the above) too. Mainly you will be with the boys in the afternoons, and assist in getting the boys to school and picking them up. You will not be left alone at the tasks. You will babysit for the boys ocassionally and do shopping and cooking (or cooking preparations) and some cleaning. You are welcome to join us on all family outings and travel. We expect you to have a good time and enjoy the Netherlands.
