| Ya ischyu rabotu v Rossii! ili u russkoyazychnoi sem'yi))
Dear family, I love traveling and integrating myself into local culture. I am also a very goofy, fun-loving, outgoing girl with a big heart that has room for every person and child.
I was born in mainland China and came to the United States with my family at age 4, so I am much more American than Chinese. But I am also very much a world citizen...
I skipped 2 grades in primary school and will graduate university in June 2009 at age 20. My degree is in International Studies, Biology and Russian language. The biology is from when I wanted to be a doctor (mainly because of parents).
In 2008 I moved to Madrid on my own to study for 3 months and studied abroad through my university in Russia (Moscow and Tomsk, Siberia) for 2 months.
I have 2 little brothers, ages 2 and 7, whom I adore.
My future goal is to become a diplomat, either for the US or the UN. My goal in becoming an au pair is to become a local of a non-English speaking country and experience what it's like to grow up there.
I am looking for a family that is not natively English-speaking. My first choice location is Saint Petersburg, Russia! i very much want to become fluent in Russian, it's my favorite language. Another Russian city is good too, of course. After that, I want to go to a non-English speaking country: anywhere in Europe, especially Eastern Europe (Romania and Moldova call my interest because of the pop group Akcent ;)), South America and possibly Central Asia.
I am very proficient with languages, so specific country is not important, I am able and willing to learn anything. I am fluent in Spanish, advanced in Russian, conversational but read little in Chinese (Mandarin), and know some French and Italian (understand a lot). I'm very interested in learning Romanian.
My hobbies and interests: tennis, ultimate frisbee, swimming, rockclimbing, house/trance music, science, Victorian, Russian and world literature, international movies, biking, technology/computers, dancing
Thank you for reading!
Best regards, Lily |
