| Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies |
| Hello! We are hoping to find someone who LOVES kids to share our homes with next summer. We want our kids to know that there is a big world out there. Mom works at night as an obstetrical nurse and dad is a carpenter/musician. We are green party liberals - did not vote for the current administration. We need someone to watch the kids while I sleep and for someone to just to play with the kids and drive them around to different activities. We live in rural Maine - spend a lot of time at the lake and grammys swimming pool. Summer is filled with parties and barbq's, trips, and gardening etc. We tend to take our kids everywehere and you would be welcome as well. We live in a college town so there are lots of young people and college activities - see University of Maine at Farmington. You would defintely be one of the family, and Sierra loves having a "big sister".
The children are wonderful of course (!) one boy age 5 and one girl - 9. We live in a pretty rural area but we do have an active social life and stay pretty busy in summer. Mom lives two miles away from Dad, the kids live in both places..but we seem to all get along well. We both want whats best for our kids. Our au pair will have a room at mom's house but will be expected to babysit for dad during the day when he has the kids. You can walk to the neighbors, the lake is a few miles, and town with stores is 9 miles away. We go to town everyday though. We tend to be laid back about most things except for safety. So if you like kids and want to experience true small-town America and learn English while living with an english speking family....
My daughter has many interests including friends, art, cooking, swimming, theatre, soccer and shopping. My son likes building, experiments, art, any sport and playing outside. We had an au pair from Italy in 2006 from greataupair , and in 2007 one from Austria- and we LOVED it!!
Looking forward to hearing from you..I will not be a member until after Feb 26 so don't be sad if I dont email you right away... |
