Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Host Family, I am Jojo from Sichuan province of China, which is also very famous in the world as Panda’s hometown. Where I have lovely family, there are 4 people in our family, my parents, and my younger sister. My parents own a small shop in the town, so they are so busy with their business. I spent most of my spare time taking care of my little sister, because she is ten years younger than me. I think that I’m an enterprising, open –minded and easy-going girl. I have got 4 years work experience since I graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University locates at foot of Mt. Emei. After 4 years work experience, I became more mature, be good at communication and understanding and contain. In my free time, I like cycling, swimming, taking a walk, mountain climbing… I enjoy the sun and spend my time outdoor. I'm learning how to drive at the moment and I will get the license before leaving to America. Another hobby of mine is reading interesting books, magazines and newspaper. Although I have a excellent job in China right now, I would like to take this opportunity to learn a different culture. I like children a lot, so after I graduated from high school, I spent the summer holiday volunteering in a kindergarten, take care of the children. Every morning, I read them stories, at noon, I looked after them during lunchtime and we played games together in the afternoon. Once, a child's parents were too busy to pick up from kindergarten, so when the little baby found that all of his classmates went home, she felt really sad, I wiped away her tears, then told her the story called Little Red Run, and encourage her to be strong, brave, until her mom came to pick her up. When I saw her smile as she saying good-bye to me, I felt so happy and the sense of Achievement. my parents are both been very supportive since I told them that I wanted to be an au pair. I love working with children and I think staying with a family is the best way to learn the language and experience the American life; Moreover, I want to improve my English as it would be very important and helpful in seeking for a job in China. I would love to share Chinese culture with you, and I can cook some tasty Chinese food.
