Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family, I'll introduce myself, my name is Delfina , I'm 23 years old and I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I live in Recoleta neighborhood, in case you happened to visit my country. I'm the youngest of 5, 4 girls and one boy (35,33,29,27 and me), I live with my parents and one of my sister. I have two nieces and one nephew. We are a very close family, every night dinner all together, especially on weekends, where we have dinner with all my sisters and brother and also my uncles, cousins and grandomther. I went to a german catholic school since kindergarten until high school. My mother tongue is Spanish and I've started learning English since I was 8 years old. I had several jobs where I had to speak everything in English, so I almost have bilingual English. I have 6 years of experience in childcare, children of different ages. I started working as a babysitter since I was 17 years old, I've started with my former hockey teachers' kids (back when I was in high school) and since then, I've taken care lots of kids with different ages, and babies. I've worked as a full time nanny for a family here in Buenos Aires for almost a year. I was in charge of 2 girls and a baby boy: feeding,bathing, picking up the girls from school, taking them to after school activites, preparing them for birthday parties, taking the three of them to the playground, to the mall and many other activites. Right now I'm babysitting for five different families, kids aged from 1 year old to 9 years old. As I've attented Nursing School for a year and a half, I have CPR/First Aid training, which I think it's very important when you are in charge of children, especially when they are very young. I'm not studying right now, I got back from the US in April. I worked at a ski resort in Park City, Utah, during the winter season. I've decided to make this trip because I like meeting people from different countries and learn about different cultures. I like the idea of sharing my culture, my language to others. I had a wonderful time there, great experience, lost of memories. I love being outdoors, do different kind of things, riding bikes, playing every kind of game, going to the cinema, playing tennis (I enjoy it very much, I'm actually taking lessons and I'm getting good at it!:-),and the list goes on. I also like cooking,a lot! So I can teach you and your kids, different recipes,especially typical food from Argentina.. dulce de leche or empanadas... or maybe you can teach me, who knows? :-) I don't mind travelling, in fact, I'm used to, we are a very "travelling family". I enjoy every kind of trip, whether is for the day, weekends or even more days as a vacation. Hope I haven't bored you with all this info.
