40-something family, primarily German, living in Luxembourg. Family speaks English, French, German, and Italian. Looking for a female or male Au Pair. Our aupair will need to have a driver's license. Light housekeeping is required, and we will accept an aupair that smokes.
It would be phantastic if you could spend as of September 2008 2 afternoons a week with Max,9 , Paola, 8 and Levi,5 (in October), in museums, parcs, woods, swimming pools or other nice locations. The other days, your help with picking up the children from their schools in the afternoon would be appreciated and we do need some assistance in the morning to make sure all children get to school in time. You do need to be able to drive a car (provided also for private use) but can also use public transport. We are usually at home around 18.00. Some tidying up with the children, preparing their meals, hoovering would be the main part of the light housework and if you like ironing, your help would be very much appreciated. We do have a cleaning lady who comes twice a week.
Family's Message to Au Pairs
Dear Aupair,
we are a family of five, German speaking with English, French and Italian as well, living in a small city 17 km outside of Luxembourg city. We have a large house with a huge garden, a dog (which does not need to be sitted) and are close to public transport. We offer you a room on the top floor where you have total privacy with the usual gadgets such as mibile phone, Internet access, car use etc. We appreciate you going out and making friends and getting to know the country and the surroundings. We have had aupairs before and enjoy the fact of having a younger person living with us. The children appreciate it a lot because usually the aupair spoils them more than we do. Luxembourg is really international, 50% of all inhabitants are foreigners, so you can easily practice any language you know. At home we speak German, so a great opportunity to learn the language, but we also speak the other languages fluently and can provide you with occasions to speak French, Italian or English easily. The children also speak some English, Italian and are learning French at school. I, Tatjana, work in the social sector, Marcus works as a veterinarian in our village. We like to spend the summertime outside, play music, travel to Italy a lot and encourage our children to read. All in all, we are quite relaxed and like to enjoy life. Ideally you would start in as soon as possible and ideally for a year. We have a lot of experience with aupairs and really enjoy having an aupair in our house. Speak to you soon, Tatjana
