| Dear Au Pair,
It will be difficult to imagine where you are going to be living for the next 12 months. We will try to make your stay in the Netherlands as pleasant as possible. Let us try to tell you what we do, where we live etc. We live in Amersfoort a town near Utrecht. This town has around 110.000 habitants. Our house was build around 1930 and is what we a call two houses under one roof. We moved to this town because our travelling distance to work was too far and taking us to much time. The house is in the old part of Amersfoort. The railway station is on a short distance (2 minutes walk). The town has a lot off historical buildings and an old centre with shops. From the house it is a short walk to the centre. We like to see our children as much as possible therefor my wive is only working four days a week and is free on Wednesday. The mother of me is living two houses further, so we have the chance to see a lot of her. Holland is famous for it's bicycles. Maybe you like to cycle. There are a lot of roads where you can cycle. Our oldeset daughter is 6 years old. She has her birthday on the 24th of November. She is very cheerful and likes to talk. Outside is her favourite place to be. She goes every day to school from 08.30 till 15.15 beside Wednesday and Friday then it is till 12.15. Our Son is 3 years old. He has his birthday on the 14th of March. He is a busy guy and talks a lot. He goes to school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. He doesn't sleep at all in the afternoons. The days of our children have a structure. Every morning around seven thirty they get their breakfast and around ten o'clock fruit and drinks. Their lunch is between twelve and one o'clock. They get fruit and drinks again around 3 o'clock. Before diner it is bathing time. Diner is around six o’clock. Then after dinner it is time to go to bed. Our youngest is a daughter born on the 8th of Februari 2006. She only gets a bottle during the day every 4 hours starting at 8 o'clock. We try to have dinner with the whole family. For example: meat, vegetables and potatoes. My wive is a financial controller. Her work is to analyse and report the sail figures to the director. Also to coach all the region representatives how they should read the figures and how they can steer their stores with these figures. I'm a Service manager with a financial institute in Amsterdam. He is responsible for the organisation of the ICT department. In our free time we like to do as many activities (for example cycling) with our children as possible. We like to be around our home, cook and work in the garden. I like to restore our old car.
With regards,
