Au Pair's Message to Families
Dear Host Family,

My name is Aurélie , I am 25 years old. I live in France, in Bouffémont, near Paris. My parents are separated. My dad, Gérard, is a sales manager, he lives with my step mother Simone in Alsace. My mom, Isabelle, is a nurse, she lives with my step father Inaki near Paris in a town named Sainte Geneviéve des Bois. I’m also very close to my grand mother, Micheline, she’s like my second mom, I spend a lot of time with her, she’s really important to me. I have three sisters and one brother: Fanny (31 years old), Elise (28 years old), Leila (19 years old) ans Mateo (7 years old). Since three years, I live on my own because of my studies, but I see my family every time it’s possible. I’ve grown up with all my family around me, I am really close to them. My family and I have goods relations, and they support me in my decision to go to the United Kingdom. They think it will be a good experience for me, because they know how much i love to take care of children and travel.I've been to the United States for 2 months this summer as an AuPair, so now I'm ready to work both in Great britain as in France.

I have had my High school diploma specialized in literature “ Baccalaureat” in 2001. I don’t have my driver’s licence as I didn’t have the time to get it until now. I hope you won’t mind.

Now, let me tell you about experiences I have with children. I started taking care of children with my little brother Mateo. I think it’s the best childcare experience someone can have. I’ve been taking care of him since he was a baby. He is a very active boy who is always doing something. I worked as a babysitter. in august 2001, I took care of a 9 months little baby, Raphael. In august 2006, of a 11 months little baby, Noah and his little sister Lila a baby girl of 2 months. and in july 2007, of a 7 months little baby girl, Shana. On mornings , we stayed at home, because of their nap. When they woke up, we were playing together. On afternoons after the lunch they took another nap, and then we played or went outside (park, slide, walk in pushchair in town...) since their parents arrived. Sometimes, I was in charge to making them having their bath. From that time, I sometimes baby-sit them on saturdays evening when their parents are going out and also on wednesdays afternoons on which ones I was in charge of pick them at their acticities. During my 2001/2002 school year, I helped two children who were in primary school to do their homework twice a week. It was not like taking care of children but it was also interesting because I was trying to make them learn their lessons and it was a real satisfaction when they had good results. During the summer of 2004, for 2 months, I went to Spain, in order to help my aunt taking care of two 8 years old young girls: Souadu and Laissa. These two girls, were coming from the Sahara refugees camps. Every year, by means of an association, children of these camps come to Spain for all summer in host families. I took care of them all day with my aunt. I prepared their breakfast and dressed them, then we did manual activities, played or went to the swimming pool before the lunch. After the lunch they took a little nap, and then we played outside or went to the swimming pool. We also went to museums, theme park, movies, town. was a wonderful experience for many reasons, firstly because we managed to overcome the language barrier, they were not speaking spanish and secondly for the cultural exchange. Since septembre 2005 to august 2007, I took care of a boy, Mathieu. He was two years old when I started to take care of him, and four years old when I stoped. I was in charge of picking him up from school, playing with him (drowings, modelling clay, painting, puzzles...), making him having his bath, preparing his diner, reading him a story and put him to bed on mondays, tuesdays, thursdays and Fridays except during the holidays. From time to time, I took care of him on Wednesdays afternoons, and I was in charge of pick him at his soccer pratice. For one year, from september 2006 to august 2007, I worked in a secondary school as an education assistant. For 2 months(July to September 208)I was an Aupair in Phoenix, AZ now, I took care of two kids: Nick 2 and Anthony 10 weeks since 8 weeks.

Now about me, I am dynamic, serious, mature, open minded, independent , fun and responsible. I love to have fun but I can assume responsabilities too. I like hanging out with my friends, going to the movies, listening to music and going to concerts, having a coffee with my friends, go to theme park, spending time on internet, shopping and I’m a huge fan of series.I like arts: painting, drama, music and architecture.I like to travel, to visit and discover others countries.

Best regards.

Aurélie.

Family Testimonial...
I am so happy with this site. A few years ago I went through a full aupair agency and spent thousands of dollars to find an aupair. I ended up having to send two aupairs back to their homes at my expense as they didn't work out. I was now in need of a live-out part time aupair or nanny and I found so many qualified candidates immediately. I was able to interview four candidates over a two week period and have now hired a fantastic woman from the site who lives only a mile from my home. I couldn't be happier with the quality of aupairs and nanny's that I met. Their references were fantastic, and they were all so lovely it was very difficult to decide. This site is well worth the small monetary investment that the families make.
