Au Pair/Nanny job description

Our au pair will help get the children ready in the morning and bring them to and from school and kindergarden. She will also do some light housework (incl. ironing) and cook dinner during the week. Our au pair will be free to do what she likes during week-ends, apart from occasional babysitting. We are looking for a happy and responsible au pair who has a genuine interest in children, who is outgoing, has initiative and energy, and wants to build her own network of friends. We prefer an au pair with prior experience in looking after children and who is already in Norway or in another Scandinavian country. We need an au pair who speaks English very well, and who also has some basic knowledge of Norwegian and wants to learn more.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Dear au pair, We currently have a wonderful au pair from the Philippines, whose visa unfortunately expires in January 2009 after a two-year stay as au pair in Norway (the maximum period allowed). We are therefore looking for a new au pair who can start in December 2008 or January 2009. Our au pair experience has taught us that if our au pair is happy, then our children are happy and so are we. We are a friendly family who likes to spend time together. We want to invite you to be part of our family, while also respecting that both you and we need personal time and space. We live in a beautiful area in Oslo, a short walk from nice beaches, parks, museums and cafes, yet only a 10-minute bus or boat ride from the city center. Our au pair will have her own room (with shower/wc) with separate entrance and internet access. We look forward to hearing from you!
