| Dear Families,
My name is Andres and I have a passion for teaching kids and helping them grow. I moved to New York in January 2008 to pursue my master’s degree in international affairs after having completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, majoring in international affairs and minoring in French. I am currently a graduate student at The New School in Manhattan and live in Astoria, Queens. I am a very active person; I love to play sports, particularly basketball and soccer, and I enjoy spending time at the park. Although I don’t have much childcare experience, I have worked with children in recreational activities, being a volunteer coach on a little league baseball team and working in a children’s basketball league. Also, when my grandma worked as a nanny, I would oftentimes help her around the house, watching the kids or with household chores.
Currently I am enrolled for the fall semester, which begins on September 2nd, and am enrolled for three classes. I am looking for a live-out position, about 20-25 hours a week. Since I live in Queens and study in Manhattan, I am mainly looking for a family in those two areas, but I would also consider surrounding areas, particularly in Brooklyn. Ideally, I would want to take care of elementary school-aged children because I feel that I could help them do well in school and possibly teach them a second or third language (I speak Spanish, French, and Portuguese).
If you have any questions or would like to know more about me, please do not hesitate to e-mail or call me. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Andres |
