Au Pair job description

Childcare for 2 year old toddler and baby boy due December 2008: - Approximately 45 hours weekly - Monday thru Friday. - Drive 2 year old boy to and from day care approximately 3x weekly. Day care is ~ 2 miles from home. (Must have a valid driver's license) - Childcare for 2 year old boy 2x weekly full-time. - Care for infant Monday - Friday full-time. Must have experience caring for a 2-3 month old infant. - Would love for au pair to be fluent in Japanese language as our son is attending a Japanese language immersion daycare. Would encourage use of the Japanese language with both children. - Light housework and meal preparation for children. - Child development activities - play time at park, reading, writing, coloring, arts and crafts, music, sports.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear Au Pair, We are a Seattle-native couple with a 21 month old boy and another boy due in December 2008. My husband's ethnicity is French-Canadian/Eastern European and I am Japanese however we were both born here in the United States. We live on Beacon Hill - in the center of the city of Seattle and only 10 minutes from downtown Seattle and many exciting attractions like shopping, professional baseball and football stadiums, museums, parks and swimming lakes. Skiing in the winter is only a 45 minute drive to the mountains and there are many places to hike and camp in the summer. We are looking for a fun-loving, helpful, responsible and compassionate live-in au pair starting in November 2008 to provide loving care to our 2-year old boy Sam and his little baby brother. Infant care experience is definitely a must as well as a driver's license and clean driving record. Your commitment to stay would need to be 12 months and we will consider an additional 12 months at the end of the term. We have a large home and can provide a good-sized living space in the basement-level including a private full-bathroom and ample closet space. There is enough room to have your own living area downstairs for privacy and a separate entry. We will also provide you the standard weekly au pair stipend as determined by your experience. Our family loves to laugh, sing and play. We have a large extended loving family and many friends with children of their own.
