Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear host family I am Miss NATTAYA , nick name NAT, from Thailand. I hereby propose myself to any of American host families who concerns on my specification. I am 26 years old, 158 cms tall and still single. Except me my parents have another 22-year-old son in the family. We live altogether in our home in Bangkok, the city where I was born and grown up. I got B.S. in Agro–Industry Extension (Majoring Biotechnology) from Kasetsart University in 2004. Not so soon after graduation, I got a job as a classroom teaching assistant at the St. Stephen’s International School in Bangkok for the past 3 years. During this time I have worked in three years groups, KG1 (15 children aged 3–4), KG2 (15 children aged 4–5) and year 1 (24 children aged 5–7). Some of my responsibilities include childcare, Assist in teaching (English, Math, Social study, Science), Supporting groups of children with their work and activities across the curriculum subjects, helping in English camp, Swimming, Reading, Singing, Dancing, Painting, Drawing, Comforting, Cooking, Preparing meal, Feeding, Bathing, Dressing, Putting to bed, Fieldtrips ( Park, Folk Museum, Nestle's factory, Toy's factory, Science museum, Siam Ocean World etc.), Doing Extra-curricular English Activities clubs (Cooking, Fun with English activities, Role play and Arts club), administrative tasks, liaising with parents and so on. English is only the language used here. However I got childcare experiences not only from the job I referred but also due to my helpfulness when I sometimes take care of my nephew "S" belonging to my cousin. Although I have ever got the TOEIC score up to 710, I realize that my English proficiency still needs to be improved much more, especially speaking as well as writing. So English improvement is one between the two main objectives of mine to become an au pair to the USA. The other aspiration is to experience American cultures ; while the host family members may learn some Thai cultures from me too. I realize that a homestay with an American family as an au pair is a good way to fulfill my objectives. Plan of mine is to spend beneficial life a year right away in the USA before coming back home to study and work intensively by then. Characteristically I love children, reasonable, generous, patient, active, and friendly. Hopefully I could be your responsible, reliable, and hard working childcare assistant. I could do some cooking, chores, and so on. In addition, I have driven car for five years. I also have national and international car driver’s licenses and complete vaccination verification required by the USA. I am healthy; I can swim and play some sports well. I spend my spare times reading books, gardening, watching movies, shopping, playing sports and internets. At home I have been raising a rabbit; now she is three years old. I called her Yuki (means snow in Japanese because of her white hair). I feed her twice a day and bathing her once a week. I think pets are good for everyone, especially for children as they can play and learn nature through animals. I love dogs and some other animals too. I feel warm in the widst of family members, relatives, and friends. We always perform activities together, for instance, camping, travelling, jogging, cycling, swimming, shopping, watching movies, celebrating Chinese new year (Early February) and Thai new year (14 April) etc. I am a Buddhist like my parents; however, it is not at all your burden to bring me to a temple. My dad, Phichai, is now retired from the manager of Credit Control Division, SIAM DAIKIN SALED. in Bangkok; my mum, Jintana, is also retired from official agricultural research work services, Department of Agricultural; whereas my brother is now a computer engineer.
