Nanny's Message to Families
***Update -- March 2008*** Hello all. This past year, I was a nanny for 6 months, but since that job has now ended, I'm looking for a new family to be with. I am praying alot for the job I will hopefully get soon, so maybe one of you will be the answer to my prayers.

03/22/08 -- Message to the Families. :-)

Hi, potential family, my name is Lori. I have been working with children in and around my Church ever since I turned 13. I'm 25 now, which means I've had a little over 12 years of childcare experience! I started out by babysitting for different families, and then moved on to working with different children at my church. Over the years, I have worked with kids from ages 0 to 18 years old.

The family I most frequently babysat for (from 1998-2003) has 6 children, and I almost always watched 4 of them, which means I'm used to watching multiple children.

Since most of my experience with kids is from the Sunday School rooms at my church, the majority of my experience lies with children ages 0 through 5. That is the age range that I have been primarily working with for the past 5 years. I do have experience with children of older ages as well though: besides working in the Sunday School at my church, I have worked at various local Vacation Bible Schools, and summer kids' camps, which has given me the experience with the kids ages 5-18. Just ask me for my list of experience with kids; it's pretty extensive. Well, I think so anyway. :-)

I'm also good with animals, as I have had various ones over the years: I've had hamsters, dwarf hamsters, rats, fish, rabbits, and dogs (right now I have 2 dogs). I have experience with pet-sitting too, for a family nearby that rescues greyhounds; their dogs like having me around. :-) So, I'd be more than willing to care for any pets, if you have them. (I love animals. :-) )

Oh, and I'm certified in First-Aid and CPR, so you can be assured that your children will be safe in my care. :-)

Before, for "Dietary Restrictions" I put "None", but now I have to put "No dairy" because I'm lactose intolerant. It's not a problem now though, because I have dairy pills I can take to allow me to eat dairy products. I am eating more healthily now too, and even going to the gym 6 days a week to work out.

Anyways, I graduated from college in 2005, and have a Bachelor's Degree in English (with an emphasis on Literature and Language). I majored in English, am an AVID reader, and I love to learn (my favorite TV channels are the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and The Learning Channel). Oh, and I've even tried out for the TV show Jeopardy! three times, and only just missed getting on the show. All that saying, I'd be able to help your kids learn alot about different things, and even help them with their homework (should the situation call for it).

I think I'm a pretty flexible person, and would be able to handle any amount (or temperament) of kids you have. Provided of course, you don't have 20 kids, or something, but I doubt that. :-) I've been told that I'm a really dependable worker. I'm also good at following orders, so you can be sure that I'll get everything done that you ask. And, if you even want to write down what you'd like for me to do (you know, in a checklist, or something) then that'd be fine too! :-)

As you can see by now, I'm a pretty wordy person (I like to write). I promise, only a little bit more. :-)

I believe God has given me a gift for working with children, which is why I would absolutely LOVE to be a nanny or au pair. I know I have a certain salary expectation picked, but I'm flexible on the salary amount, which I'm sure we can discuss if you pick me. :-) Oh, and being a Christian is very important to me, so I would need to have Sundays off, so I could go to church with my family.

As I may have also said before, I LOVE working with children; they are my passion. I would LOVE to care for yours. I hope you are the right family for me; I look forward to meeting you. :-)

Family Testimonial...
You can tell that your webmaster has gone through the extra effort to make this a truly exceptional site. Yours is by far the best laid-out and most easy to navigate. It takes little time and is so easy to find candidates that match your particular interests. I LOVE that you are able to search candidates and find out if they are interested in you as well BEFORE paying a registration fee. I also like the fact that you have a complaints page and scam warnings. These features help weed out undesirable candidates. I must say that it has been an enjoyable experience.
