Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are looking for a caregiver for our three children ages 11, 7 & 6. Our position is part time and includes caring for the children afterschool from 3 pm - 6 pm. Our au pair/nanny will need to prepare & cook nutritious meals/snacks for the children as well as pick them up from school as well as help with homework and drive to evening activities. More hours are available if the caregive is willing to do light housekeeping duties (childrens laundry, tidying, vacuuming, etc.) Salary is negotiable but would be above minimum wage. We have space if someone requires a live in as we've had a live in nanny for the last 5 1/2 years. We are flexible and would provide references from our last nanny if requested. This position may be suitable for someone attending college/university. We live close to SFU (Burquitlam) and live along a bus route.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We are an active and energetic family looking for someone with the same drive we have. Our children are well behaved and all attend a private school in Coquitlam. The are aged 6 (boy), 7 (girl) and 11 (boy) and are encouraged to help in family duties. They respect firm limits and are playful & loving. We are a religious family and would prefer to hire someone who respects our home and our values. We are happy to sponsor someone new to our country We have a car that when available, would be available for our nanny's personal use. We prefer to spend time as a family and are involved in our children's after school activities (soccer, baseball, dance, etc.). We are not interested in hiring someone for under 10 months given that finding after-school care will be difficult once spaces are taken up. Ideally, the candidate would stay from September until the end of June 2009 We also prefer someone who can legally work in Canada and/or someone who can obtain a visa in Canada (check out the government of Canada web site on hiring domestic workers). We will assist the selected candidate in completing all forms.
