Au Pair job description
The most important tasks is to look after and interact with the children. Jake (6) and Max (4) are at school full-time and you would need to take them there (10 min walk) at 09:00 and collect one of them again at 15:30hrs. Looking after the youngest, Adam(16 months), in between, with a break when he sleeps (for 2hrs). I am an English Teacher working only two day a week, on the other days after school, play with the children till I come home (usually around 15:45). We value creative play, reading and fun. So hours are 8-6pm and £100 per week, bearing in mind the room you will stay at was rented out for £400 per month in the past. Light housework is required, as is occasional simple cooking. The week-ends are free. Holidays can be taken during the Christmas, Easter and summer break, also we have half-term break which means every 6 weeks schools get a week off for holidays. This is a pet free home so good news for anyone with allergies
Family's Message to Au Pairs
We live in Greenwich, London, which is very green (has parks, cinemas, the O2 concert venue and of course Greenwich Mean Time Observatory which are walking distance). You will have your own private room, TV and DVD, CD player and access to the Computer, internet and our movie library & Home Cinemas system, plus lots of English books! There is a local English College that provides English evening courses at different levels. We also live close to the centre of London, and transport is excellent. We have references from our past aupairs who have been very happy in our home as we have made them feel like part of the familly and continue to visit us. We PAY TOWARDS the tuition fees for college. We make sure we run our house efficiently and look after each other.
