| Dear family,
First of all, I'll explain the situation I am in. I have been in the USA a an Au Pair since february. But the situation with the family is pretty complicated, and even though I am very attached to the children and to the area, I am willing to leave them. I know this can sound scary for you, but I have looked after children for a long time, have even been an au pair before, and no family has ever had to complain about my work with their children, and my capacity of sharing their everyday life (and chores!!!). To explain it shortly, I think this family and I were definitely not a great match, and the mother is making my life impossible. But in four months I found myself really loving the East Bay (what's not to love?!!!) and I have made some very good friends in the area I live in (Rockridge in Oakland). As much as I am willing to change family, I would really love it if I could find another family at least in Oakland or Berkeley, so that I don't have to go through all the process of meeting new friends again (I know I could do it, but I just did!!!). So, technically what you need to know is that I am still on a contract with 'Agent Au Pair' and if you are willing to have me looking after your children, you need to go through this agency. I have a visa to stay in America until february 2009, but if the experience with your family goes well, I would definitely be willing to extend it for another year. And if you are interested in my profile, let me know, and I would only need to give my current family two weeks notice before I can join your family!!! Now that the technical part is over, let's move on to who I am! My name is Marie, I am a 23 years old French girl. I am a very outgoing and sociable person, who is always eager to learn and discover new things. I like cinema, music and books, and I also like to go out and meet people, or go out for walks. I am a very easy going person, not afraid to handle responsibilities or be far away from home. I really like looking after children, as I have started doing baby-sittings when I was 14 and haven't stopped since. I was also an Au Pair twice before (once in Ireland, once in Paris) and I had a great time with the children and am still in touch with them. So I know how to take care of children of any age, entertain them, make their brains work, and I always shared a lot with the children I looked after. I can also help you with your housework, it is not something I particularly enjoy (who does?) but I am not lazy and know how to clean, iron and cook. I am very independent and would definitely not be another child in your family! I like to go out regularly and meet my friends, but I never let it interfere with my job. You can be sure that when I am with your children, all my focus is on them, as I am aware of the responsibilities I have (towards you and towards them) and can imagin that it requires a lot of trust from your side to leave someone alone with your kids. So I need a family who could trust me with their children, and let me have my privacy and live my own life. I don't know what else I can say about myself, except that I am looking forward to hearing (or reading)from you, meet all your family, and discover your country. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you for taking interest in my profile and for having read it until the end,
