Nanny's Message to Families

My name is Jessi and I am 19 years old. I was raised in a Christian home with a stay-at-home mom and that is also what I would like to be when I get married, in the meantime I love being a nanny and caring for children and being able to be one of the very special and influential people in their lives. I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. When I was young my mom ran the children's ministry at our church, Community Christian Church, and I would always help her with any age group. When I was 8 years old I began to be a helper in the infant nursery. When I was 10 I was asked to be a helper in the 3/4-year-old classroom. By the time I was 12 years old I was teaching the class and had my own helper. I currently teach Sunday school at the same church and I am now certified and able to teach any ages from 0-15. I am also a leader in the high school at the church. I started to baby-sit outside of my own family when I was 11 years old. I have loved kids and had such a heart for them all my life. I got my first nanny job at 15 and found that is what I want to do and I just love it! I also have housekeeping experience and have no problems doing both. I have been a nanny/housekeeper full time for a family of four for a year and a half. I enjoy being a nanny because I think it is the most rewarding job out there. To be able to experience a child growing up and loving and caring for them is what I love the most. Every child is so different and everyday at work is a new day. You never have to worry about being bored or not having something to do, with kids there are always new challenges ahead and new things to experience with each one.
