| Au Pair/Nanny job description |
| We are looking for an au pair to become a part of our family to help us with our two sons, ages 3.5 years and 13 months. Parents are professionals with the father working full time and mother working part time. Our ideal au pair would help with daily activities with the children, preparing meals, playing, taking trips to parks, gym, etc. as well as the daily household chores. For example, helping with meals, dishes, laundry, etc. She would also be a non-smoker who is health conscious. We also have a friendly yellow lab named Piper who loves to be included in family outings and walked! We also need someone who is willing to travel with our family to various places throughout the year. We are looking for an au pair to arrive in October or November. Our current au pair is finishing her year with us in November... |
| Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies |
| Dear future Au Pair, We are the family from Tacoma, Washington. Our names are Shannon and Brad and we have two young boys named Jackson and Pearce. “Jack” is three and half years old and Pearce is almost 13 months. Jackson is a delightful three year old with excellent communication, a fabulous personality and is just so much fun! Pearce is just coming into his own and is an easy, happy baby! We also have an exuberant yellow lab named Piper who loves attention and walks! We live in a nice home in Tacoma, which is about 40 minutes south of Seattle. We live in an area called the Proctor district with many shops, markets, and parks as well as a library, all within walking distance of our home. We have many friends in the area with children the same age as ours. Brad and I own our own business and are both Doctors of Chiropractic, our minutes from our house. We have a “wellness” clinic that includes chiropractic, massage therapy and acupuncture. Our family is very close and we cherish our time with our children. Jackson will be attending preschool 5 mornings a week beginning in September. Both of the children love to spend time with their grandparents. Brad’s family is just 3 hours away in Canada and my family is within one hour of our home. We love to travel…for personal vacation as well as numerous conferences per year. We travel to Vancouver, B.C. quite frequently since Brad is a Canadian citizen. We also travel to Hawaii, Mexico, California and the Midwest at least once a year. We are a very active family. Day to day we like to have outings such as visits to the park, the YMCA (family fitness gym), children’s museums, as well as visits to friends’ homes to play with their children. We like to swim in the summer and play in the snow in the winter. We would love for the boys to learn a second language as well. Our current au pair is from France and will complete her year with us in November. We will miss her dearly! Our ideal au pair must have experience with infant and toddler children. The sole reasons for her being here would be to become a part of our family to help care for our children as well as an opportunity to learn about our culture and see the beautiful northwest. Our au pair should be honest, loving, intelligent, and active with good communication skills so that we can have an open dialogue. Our au pair would act as a mother’s helper as well as a nanny. My schedule is quite flexible but I would enjoy having someone to help with the day to day outings as well as occasional evening and weekend help. The typical week would include about 40 hours of help but not a set schedule, you would be considered an integral part of our family who helps with childcare when we have to work, run errands, travel, etc. There are many activities for an au pair in our area. There are shopping, movie theatres, parks, restaurants, an athletic gym (which we are members at), and also numerous universities where she could enroll in courses.
We look forward to meeting our next au pair!
In health, Shannon |
