Au Pair/Nanny job description

I am in need of assistance with my wonderful 3 year old daughter Daniella. My current Au Pair, who has been with us just over a year, is getting married and therefore moving on. That leaves me looking for a new Au Pair. I am looking at paying between $200 and $250/wk which would be in addition to a private bedroom, private bath, utilities, wireless internet and food. Actually salary would depend on many factors including experience, misc living expenses and responsibilities/tasks. I am very easy going and Daniella is a wonderfully fantastic child. She is a fun, goofy and sweet little girl. Of course she can be a handful at times. She enjoys dancing around, singing, coloring and playing with her many toys. She loves playing outside, visiting the park and zoo as well as taking walks and watching some television shows that she adores. She is active and imaginative. In addition to Daniella, I also have a 13 year old son, Justin, who lives in Ohio with his mother. He visits occasionally.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Au Pair’s Duties - Plan and provide age-appropriate activities (e.g. Playground, Reading, Walks, etc.) - Plan and attend play dates - Read age-appropriate books to Daniella everyday - Prepare a variety of foods for Breakfast, Lunch and snacks - Clean up kitchen after use - Pick up play area during use and at the end of the day - Bathe & help Daniella brush her teeth - Pick up Daniella’s bedroom as needed - Get Daniella dressed Family’s Expectations - Provide the family with Drivers License, Visa, Social Security Card or any other legal identification requested - Provide physical, emotional, intellectual and social development - Comply as closely as possible with the Family’s preferences regarding child rearing & discipline - No Physical Discipline - Tend to Daniella’s personal hygiene, health, welfare and physical safety. - Be reasonably flexible regarding emergencies and unexpected changes in the schedule. - Maintain a daily log concerning the activities of the day - Be responsible, reliable and punctual at the start of the day, appointments and activities. - Have efficient time management of child care tasks and all other related duties. - Promote feelings of security and warmth by enjoying daily cuddle, read and talk time. - Read/review any child care information provided by the family. - Actively participate in understanding and enhancing Daniella’s interests. - Be supportive of parent-child relationship. - Be willing to travel with the family when needed - When needed be willing to stay at home with Daniella while the family travels - Get parent’s permission before giving the child medication - The Au Pair is legal to work in the United States - The Au Pair is responsible for any taxes due to the federal, state or local government. Family will provide - Private room and bath - TV with Cable - Computer access with Internet - Wireless Internet if Au Pair has her own computer - A Schedule - Time Off - Earned Vacation Time (1 day per month) - Food (any specialty items should be provided by the Au Pair, unless otherwise agreed). - Utilities - Domestic TeleUsage (keep a log of any other usage for reimbursment). - A key and garage remote - Periodic reviews Day Hours Monday 8:00am - 5:00pm Tuesday 8:00am - 5:00pm Wednesday 8:00am - 5:00pm Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Evening Hours Vary, Typically 1-2 days a week after 8 or 9 (while Daniella is in bed) and 1 day a week after 6. Weekend Hours Upon request only (approximatly 1 day or night per every other weekend) I could possibly arrange a babysitter for a few hours a week if some of the hours do not work. Any additional tasks are open to what you feel comfortable with. Since I work from home I am home most of the day, There will be times that I help with Daniella between 8 & 5. I can arrange time off for you with a weeks notice. I do travel some and I may request that you travel with Daniella and I or that you stay with Daniella while I am out of town depending on the trip. I am a Sales Engineer with a title of District Sales Manager and work out of my home. I am home approximately 75% of the day.
