| Dear Au Pair or Nanny,
My husband and I are looking for the ideal nanny to care for our four children during the next school year. We are fun, energetic and try to maintain a healthy balance in our lives. We are flexible and supportive and understand what it takes to care for young children and how important and demanding the job of a nanny can be.
Our children are interesting, entertaining, loving and sometimes challenging little human beings. They each have their unique traits and characteristics. The oldest two are in school and are very self reliant (pack their own lunches, get themselves to the school bus and back home), but they still need a guiding hand to ensure they are eating healthy snacks after school, wearing helmets when they ride bikes, etc... The littlest ones are, well little, which means they are endlessly cute to watch, but require hands on care and teaching as they struggle towards independence (learning to dress themselves, learning to wash hands, etc...). Luckily, the terrible twos are passing for our three year old, and he is becoming quite a reasonable young gentleman.
We are looking for a nanny who is kind and playful, but we also need someone who can set limits and be firm. We feel that honesty and open communication are the key to a successful partnership with our new nanny. The ideal nanny will enjoy taking the two littlest ones on outings to see new things during the day (we will provide a car), but will also like those cozy stretches at home on the couch with a dinosaur movie or a pile of spiderman action figures.
We have a comfortable home to offer a live in situation. Our neighborhood is quiet, with sidewalks, friendly neighbors, and a little grassy park area just up the street. You can sometimes hear the sea lions when you're out walking. From Everett Washington, you will find easy transportation into the city of Seattle. Everett has its own unique cultural heartbeat, with a theater, symphony, Comcast Arena, coffee shops, farmer's market and quaint pubs. All of this is within walking distance of our home, including a great children's museum (which we have an annual pass to) and library. There is a college on the other side of this little town (about 5 minutes drive) that offers a wide array of classes.
Please contact us to discuss the position or with any more questions you may have.
Sincerely, Jeannie |
