| I am a Thai au pair who recently finished a two year contract taking care of two adorable children - Dakota, a four year old boy and Jacy, his two year old sister. After being with them for two years I have realized that children should spend as much time as possible interacting with other people, especially other children of the same age. I believe that this kind of socialization is important for their social development. Because of this, I sometimes take Dakota and Jacy to the library where they can learn new things, share their opinions, and make new friends. The library has art classes and story times which I signed them up for because they love drawing, painting, and listening to the stories. I can see how happy they are by the smile on their faces when they participate in the classes. I also take them to music and movement classes at Kid Netic where they can sing and dance with their friends and their teacher when the music plays. I think experiences like these are necessary for their emotional development. The children need both social and emotional development in order to grow up into good people.
Before I became an au pair, I had experience taking care of my cousins and three months of experience working at a childcare center. I learned how to take care of children and how to keep them happy. I helped feed, change, and clean them and sometimes, when the weather was nice; we all went outside to exercise.
I recently completed a two year contract with an international au pair program and have had two years of full time child care experience and would love to work as a live-out nanny in the Philadelphia area while attending school.
I am responsible, patient, active, friendly, and honest. I love children and can keep them happy. I think childhood is a very important stage of life and that children need someone who can take care of them and help them in body and mind.
I will be available to start working after 1 August of this year. Letters of reference from my previous host family can be provided upon request. |
