Au Pair job description

Do you like to play with kids? Do you enjoy watching them grow and helping them along the way? We are looking for someone who really loves kids. We would like someone who takes an interest in our children and their development. Prime responsibility for the three children – aged 6, 8 and 10. Inspire, educate, and care for the children in work and play. Drive to and from school and extracurricular activities - Prepare meals. You will assist them with their homework and help them to keep the play area and their rooms neat. We have a housekeeper who cleans the house each week. Childcare hours vary from week to week – 30 to 35 hours plus a night of babysitting per week. The weekends will be yours to enjoy beautiful Paris and the rest of France! As part of our household, you would also be expected to help prepare or clean up the meals in which you participate outside of your childcare hours. Native English speakers only please.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

We have had north american Nanny and aupairs living with us for the past four years and look forward to inviting a new, caring person into our home. Our home is in a lovely city on the west side of Paris. This city is a short 15 minute subway ride into Paris and allows us to enjoy all that Paris has to offer – with the comfort of a house and a yard. We are a French/Canadian/American (children born in Texas) family with 2 boys and a girl (ages 10, 8 and 6 and all bilingual) and we speak both French and English in the home. We will encourage and support your French language development and consider it a big part of you enjoying your time here to the maximum. During the children’s school vacations we travel to Brittany (a beautiful spot on the Atlantic ocean) and at Christmas we usually ski in the alps. We would expect our au pair to travel with us. We are looking for someone who loves children and is interested to learn about France, who is caring and generous, who would like to become part of the lives of 3 wonderful children and who can be flexible to our schedules. We have many amenities at your disposal: a room with ensuite bath and a small sitting room located on the top floor of the house (providing full privacy), a car generally at your disposal, high speed internet and free calling to North America. We are part of a very close family and enjoy spending our free time in child oriented activities (biking, swimming, skating, hiking…) and with our family and friends. Our children are taking music lessons (piano & guitar) so if you are a piano player you will be able to continue during your time with us.
