Au Pair job description
I am a single stockbroker, living in Austin, Texas. My daughter is 35 and is autistic. She has some self help skills but must have supervision at all times. She lives with a foster care provider three days/nights each week, has a teacher in our home three days each week, and occasionally stays with her older sister. My daughter is attractive, personable, and happy, and requires little care. I will require about fifteen or twenty hours of assistance each week, sometimes a little more if there is a scheduling problem with the other care providers. I have never used au-pair services and would like to try for a short term—one or two months. My preference is to begin with someone who does not require a visa or the complications of overseas travel. Responsibilities include light housekeeping and occasional meal preparation in addition to supervision of my child. There is likely no problem if the au-pair has other employment or school.
Family's Message to Au Pairs
I require an au-pair who is dependable, patient, and responsible; who will take an interest in my child’s welfare and development. My daughter is personable, attractive, and happy. She is petite--5'3, 125 pounds, and does not require a great deal of assistance, but must be supervised at all times. We live in an attractive home in a great neighborhood, very convenient to stores, restaurants, parks, etc. I dance and often take my daughter with me and she loves it! We go to movies and concerts on occasion, take long walks, swim, and sometimes travel. My older daughter lives nearby and takes an active interest in her sister’s activities. It is my hope that the au pair will become like family to us and enjoy her stay.
