Au Pair's Message to Families

In December of 2008 I will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. I plan on attending graduate school in August of 2009. From January of 2009 through the end of the summer before I begin my graduate education, I hope to improve my language skills. I have taken German and Italian in college and French during high school. I would be happy to work with families who speak English, German, French or Italian. I have never worked as an au pair but do have experience working with children. I interned in London's National Portrait Gallery's Learning and Access Department in the spring of 2007 and the Kimbell Art Museum's (Fort Worth, Texas) Education Department in the fall of 2007. I have experience working in a nursery at church and teaching Sunday school classes to 8-9 year olds. I also organized activities for a group of middle-school aged children (10-14) residing at a women's shelter in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I am a friendly and creative individual who is very close to my own family. I would love to have the experience of living with a host family. I would be more than happy to help the children with their studies, or even provide them with supplemental English lessons if needed.
