Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are a family of three with a beautiful, bright and outgoing 3 year old daughter. Currently we live in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington, we have just returned to the US from a two year assignment in Beijing, China. We are looking for an Au Pair to introduce our daughter to a broader world view, someone to look after her before and after school (she will attend Montessori pre-school full-time this Fall), occasional nights, weekends and to accompany us on family vacations. Also we would like someone who would be willing to pitch in with light housework. We also plan on getting a couple of cats on our return so you should be fond of them. We are only looking for US citizens or for people with US green card.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We are only looking for an Au Pair from the US or with an existing US green card. The ideal candidate will be well educated, smart, athletic, outgoing and very reliable to help nurture and care for our daughter. You should enjoy crafts, dancing, and outdoor activities. We are a pretty laid back family that likes movies, going to the park, playing with our daughter and traveling. We go up to Vancouver, Canada several times a year to visit family and also enjoy going to the Oregon coast. We would love to find someone who would travel with us to these places and others. We can offer you a relaxed household and hope to find someone who becomes part of our family and will be in touch with Zoe for years to come. A bit about us. We have been together for 20 years now and married for 9. We are Canadian and our daughter is American. We are non-smokers, very rarely drink and do not go out a lot at night. We prefer to hang out at home or do something as a family. We have done a lot of traveling and Zoe is now a seasoned traveler having visited 5 countries at the age of 3. We enjoy vacations that allow us to relax and have a bit of adventure. For example in Thailand we enjoyed hanging out by the pool and relaxing but also went on an elephant trek where Zoe enjoyed feeding the elephants and being kissed by one.
