| Dear host family, How time flies. I almost finished my 1st year in US, but I think that's not enough. I want to experience more of the US. Here, I can talk to different people from all over the world and I have really learned a lot. I have learned different ways to raise a child, but I'd like to learn more as I want to be a good mom in the future.
I'm now taking care of 3 girls -- 2 years old, 5 years old and 7 years old. They're all very sweet. As the 5 and 7 year old are learning piano and violin, they always have a mini concert for the 2 years old and me. We sing songs, dance, and read stories. The 2 year old just wants the Cinderella story everyday, haha. We play outside, go for a walk, go to the library, swim, have tea parties, dress up as princesses, etc. I have a lot of fun taking care of them. Prior to coming to my current host family, I took care of 2 boys, 2 years old & 4 years old, in San Diego, CA and 2 girls, 5 years old & 7 years old, in Snoqualmie, WA.
I had a good time with my current host family. I'm taking care of 3 girls. During school months, I spent most of the time with the 2-year-old girl. She is the funniest little baby in the world. When other 2-year-old baby just can speak very little words like "I want that" or "I like that", she already can tell me The Cinderella and Little Mermaid stories, like "my step mother tore my dress, now I can't go to the ball". I treat her like a big kid, instead of treating her like a little baby. Because if I tell her why I don't want her to do something, she can understand. And sometimes when she come back from somewhere, she will come straight to my room and tell me she's back. I really really love her. The 5 year old girl is the smartest of them(as her IQ is 145). She had a fence when I just arrived here. She didn't let me comb her hair and didn't want to play with me, so when she said "I love you" the 1st time, I was very touched. She really likes reading stories with me, she read the words she knows and I read the rest. She loves everyone but most of the time she is just too shy to show them. The 7 year old girl is a very sweet girl. She likes to help. She love cooking, and always wants to cook for the whole family in her own way. She is a fast reader, she can finish 5 books in one day so recently, we go to the library almost everyday. I think she'll be a leader somewhere when she is grown up, when other kids come for a play date, she always is the leader and tells the other kids what to do or play next.
Let me introduce myself. I'm a 25 year old girl who came from Guangzhou,China. I graduated from Beijing City College in Marketing. I can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and a little bit Japanese. During my free time, I'd like to continue learning my Japanese, reading books, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and talking with different people. I can make Chinese food and Japanese food. I enjoy all kinds of food. I'm a very easy going girl, and hope we will have a good experience together in the coming year!
I enjoy being an au pair because I like exploring the country's culture and lifestyle through my own eyes and further improving my English. I love learning to be independent. I also love to share the culture and traditions of my own country with another family.
I hope to meet up with you soon to start a great experience as an au pair for your family! Just so you know, my agency is Cultural Care.
