| Dear host family, How time flies. I almost finish my 1st year in US. But I feel like that's not enough. I want to experience more about US. In here, I can talk to different people all over the world and I really learnt a lot. I think the best thing I learnt from being an au pair is the way to raise a child. I learnt time-out, and how to encourage them, and I'd like to learn more as I'll be a good Mom in the future.
I'm now taking care of 3 girls, 2 years old, 5 years old and 7 years old. They're all very sweet. As the 5 and 7 year old are learning piano and violin, they always have a mini concert for me and the 2 year old. We sing songs, dance, read stories, the 2 year old just wants Cinderella story everyday, haha. We play outside, go for a walk, we always walk to the library, swim, have tea party, dress up as princesses, etc. I have a lot of fun taking care of them. Prior to coming to my current host family, I took care of 2 boys, 2 years old & 4 years old, in San Diego, CA and 2 girls, 5 years old & 7 years old, in Snoqualmie, WA.
I had a good time with my current host family. I'm taking care of 3 girls. During school months, I spent most of the time with the 2-year-old girl. She is the funniest little baby in the world. When other 2-year-old baby just can speak very little words like "I want that" or "happy happy", she already can tell me Cinderella and The Little Mermaid story, like "my step mother tore my dress, now I can't go to the ball". I treat her like a big kid, instead of treating her like a little baby. Because if I tell her why I don't want her to do something, she can understand. And sometimes she come back from somewhere, she will come straight to my room and tell me she's back. I really really love her. The 5 year old girl is the smartest in them(as her IQ is 145). She had a fence when I just arrive here. She didn't let me to comb her hair and didn't want to play with me, so when she said "I love you" in the 1st time, I was very touched. She really like reading stories with me, she read the words she knows and I read the rest. She loves everyone but most of time she just too shy to show them. The 7 year old girl is a very sweet girl. She likes to help. She love cooking, and always wanna cook for the whole family in her own way. She is a fast reader, she can finish 5 books in one day so that recently we go to the library almost everyday. I think she'll be a leader somewhere when she grow up, when other kids come for a play date, she always be the leader to tell other kids what to play now and what to do next.
Let me introduce myself. I'm a 25 year old girl who came from Guangzhou,China. I graduated from Beijing City College in Marketing. I can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and a little bit Japanese. During my free time, I'd like to continue learning my Japanese, reading books, watching movies, hanging out with friends, talking with different people. I can make Chinese food and Japanese fooe my fried rice very much. I enjoy all kinds of food. I'm a very easy going girl, hope we will have a good experience together in the coming year!
I enjoy being an au pair because I like exploring the country's culture and lifestyle through my own eyes and further improving my English. I love learning to be independent, sharing the culture and traditions of my own country with an American family.
I hope to meet up with you soon to start a great experience as an au pair for your family! Just so you know, my agency is Cultural Care.
