| Hi My name is Aleksandra. I'll be 20 years old on 08/09/08. I'm from Poland. Since 1 September 2007 I have been working and living with an American host family. I'm working for Cultural Care Au Pair Agency. I met my host family on this web site.
Information about my host family: I live with my host family in Atlantic Beach, FL. I'm taking care of three children (ages: 4, 10, 11). Phoebe (4) is the youngest. I have to spend time mainly with her. We're never bored with each other! We play most of the time eg:Pirates, Fairies, Disney Princesses, Barbie dolls,and we love to draw, cut shapes with construction paper, color with Crayons and create Playdoh funny shapes. While outside, we usually slide, swing and play on other playground equipment. I taught her to use her favorite web sites (disneyfairies,webkinz,barbies) on the internet. I'm proud of her, she is a smart girl. Olivia(10) and John(11) are Phoebe's oldest siblings. They're very mature so we can talk about many interesting topics. John and I like play Play Station 3. (in Poland I had Xbox360- I loved to play :)). Olivia and I talk about our favorite animal-horse. We usually have an activity, eg:swimming,running or biking.
My duties: prepare the kids for school and Phoebe to pre-school. I make their breakfast and lunches. I help Phoebe get dressed. I always clean up after breakfast. I have to take Phoebe to school and pick her up. (John and Olivia ride their bikes). I also have to take the kids to after-school activities. I help the children pick up their toys after they finish playing. I make their beds and, once a month I have to change their sheets. I fold their laundry and put their clean clothes in the drawers. Some days I put Phoebe to bed.I have to prepare meals for children.
About my experience with children in Poland: I took care of children in my country.I was a babysitter for a 1-year-old, Alan, and a 4-year-old girl Kinga. Mu duties were: with Alan(1): Take him for a walk in his baby carriage, changed diapers, putt him to bed, read baby books, played with him eg:baby toys, huge blocks, games about colors and different shapes. We often spent time in a park. I taught him to walk by holding his hands and helping him to take first steps. We spent some time at home watched baby shows on TV. with Kinga(4): First of all, I looked after the baby so that nothing wrong happened to her. I prepared light meals, went to the park and played. Moreover, I spent many times with her at a swimming pool and I thought her how to swim. I also showed her how to read and write. Our favorite tutorial was riding a bike. We spent time at the playground, worked puzzles and played with Barbie dolls.
About me: I'm a young, active person. I can't stay in one place I like to meet new people and see new places. Each au pair has to finish 72 hours at school. I already have 300 English class hours. I have certificates. I know that English is very important and I really want to learn more,and more :). I think I'm learning very fast. I spend my free time improving my English, even though the classes are free. In my friends opinion, I know I'm a safe driver. I have a Polish, international and Florida driver's license. My host family bought a car for me. I have already driven 7000miles. I love car trips to see new places. I don't have a problem driving children to school and wherever I must. I love to use manual transmission, and, of course, I can drive a car with an automatic transmission. In Poland I learned to drive in the snow and when it was really bad, rainy weather. I don't have a problem driving at night, or on busy highways and even dirt roads. I never had any accident, even crash on the parking lot :). One time I got a flat tire and I fixed it by myself. I know I'm resourceful and prudent when I drive children I know I 'm responsible for them, and I make sure they're safe. In the future, I would like to learn to drive on motorbike. I'm a creative person. I can draw very well (my favorite things to draw are:video games characters, bikes and horses. I like to do home craft things with children.I love swimming, riding bikes,playing basketball and volleyball. I can give swimming lessons to children. I'm not allergic to animals. My host family has 7animals. I like dogs and cats. I like to take their dog for a walk, even if it is on my free time. Taking the dog for a walk gives me some pleasure. I always pick up the dog messes;)
In the future I'd like to study in the U.S. I have to pass the Toefl exam, and I'm still preparing for it. I think studing in the Usa will give me a chance to explore American culture, improve me English and learn life skills. I'm honest, respectful and friendly. I hope to meet a great host family who will be the same to me. I would like to be treated like a member of family. any questions?call me. Thank you |
