Au Pair job description

Dear Au Pair I would like to find an au pair who would welcome the challenge of helping to look after 3 teenage girls, 17, 15, 14. Please note that I am a widower, so you be working on your own initiative most of the time. Specific duties would involve cooking an evening meal each day, Monday - Friday, helping with washing, and tidying their rooms and the house. More generally, keeping them company, helping with homework, and 'babysitting' 3 times each week including Friday evening. I envisage you working not more than 5 hours per day / 25 hours per week, plus babysitting 2 or 3 evenings each week - this would be more for company than specific responsibilities. Weekends would be free, although I would like some to retain some flexibility on both sides. You would have opportunity for study or taking on other paid employment, subject to your au pair duties and work permit. I will negotiate the pay, but it will not be more than 100 pounds sterling, plus room and board.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear Au Pair I am looking for a friendly, outgoing girl to help look after my 3 teenage daughters. We live in a pleasant suburb of London, in north East of London, about 30 - 40 minutes to the centre of London. There is a tube station (central line) nearby, lots of shops and facilities, and some pleasant parks and green spaces. Please note, I am a widower, of 10 years. We have had many au pairs and nannies over the past 10 years so my daughters are used to having au pairs around the house. I can put you in touch with 2 previous au pairs if you so wish. I work from home but may be spending more time working out of the house so I require someone to assist in the daily duties of running a house. I am able to manage without an au pair so I will only take on someone if I think they can make a positive difference. I think this would really suit the right person who wanted to use social skills rather than the more usual au pair duties. My children are quite independent much of the time. My daughters are all studying either French or German so it would be helpful if you spoke one or both of these languages to assist with homework and learning. I do not mind if you smoke but you will have to smoke in the garden. I can answer any specific questions you have if you are interested.
