Au Pair's Message to Families

PLEASE NOTE: I am not a paying member, so you must get a hold of me... Hello Family!! I am looking for employment as soon as possible! I am living in Columbus Ohio with my husband who is in his last year of dental school. We're living close to OSU campus, therefore I would prefer to work somewhere within that proximity. I'm also in the midst of becoming a US resident, since I just got married this past June :) I'm an enthusiastic 24 year old female who has an absolute love and respect for children of all ages. I have finished my degree at the University of Ottawa in Canada. I have also received my diploma in Early Childhood Education. I graduated receiving my diploma in December 2004. I have a great amount of experience working with children between the ages of birth to 7 years of age in childcare setting(infants, toddlers, preschool and school-age). I have also worked with older children while in a co-op placement, which was situated at an elementary school in a grade 1 and 2 classroom. Additionally, I have experience working as an independent counselor at a French camp. I love the company of children and love to follow their lead in hopes to plan and create activities of their interest and ability. My educational background with children in the early years has made me aware of how important it is to effectively set up developmentally appropriate programs for children of all ages. Besides my educational experience I would consider myself a very caring, outgoing, fun and energetic individual! I am a passionate character who enjoys working together with children and adults of different ethnicity and culture. I love to laugh and enjoy life to its fullest. I have a great desire to travel; knowing that it will color my life with adventure and culture. I'm also a very responsible, caring and a mature individual who takes my job and responsibilities sincerely. I have many interests that I would love to explore and share with your children: I love to hike, explore the outdoors, swim, and plan activities and games. I am fluent in English and French and I have graduated with a bilingual certificate from high school in 2002. I also have a background of 5 years in piano in which I would be able to teach the fundamentals in basic piano to your children.
