| Au Pair job description |
| Dear AuPair, My husband and I work full-time and both sons are in school from 8h-13h. Therefore your job would mainly consist in picking up the younger boy from school, preparing a snack and supervising their homework as well as playing, drawing, reading, and of course talking and listening to them, as well as some housework like doing the washing (washing machine and dryer), ideally ironing, shopping, dusting, vaccuming, clearing toys away (together with the boys), etc. It is the boys’ responsibility to feed the cats, but the need to be reminded occasionally. As you can see, this would also leave free time for yourself during the day during which you could e.g. take German classes in order to improve your knowledge or to learn an instrument, etc. There are intensive Germany courses available in a town nearby with a certificate provided after completion. | Family's Message to Au Pairs |
| Dear AuPair, we are a family of 4. Kevin (43), Karin (45), Lucas (10) and Martin (8) and have had AuPairs as part of our family for the past 10 years. We are an Australian/German bi-lingual family, which enjoys travelling and outdoor activities during summer just as much as feeling comfortable at home during winter. Our current AuPair will leave in June/July and we are looking for a new AuPair to stay with us, in order to look after Lucas and Martin before we come home in the evening or during their school holidays, if Kevin and I have to work. The boys love to play football and to spend time in the garden, but they also like to play with action figures or paint pictures and make little presents for people they like. Lucas started high school last summer and is already very independent, and enjoys spending time with his friends, his little brother and anybody who plays football. He plays e-guitar and loves HipHop music at the moment. Martin likes Playstation 2 games, action figures and singing, especially High School Musical. They both like to ride their bikes and to swim. Occasionally, we would require you to look after the boys on a Friday or Saturday evening, but never over night.
We are looking for a cheerful, reliable AuPair which is happy to take on the responsibility to look after our boys and to help us with the daily tasks in order make our life simpler and to give us more time to spend with Lucas and Martin. We are looking for someone who is prepared to share her own experiences and values with the boys and to show them new things as they grow up.
In return, we offer to you to be as much part of our family as you wish it to be and would be delighted to show you some parts of Germany and Europe in return.
We are looking forward to hearing from you and are happy to get you in contact with our former AuPairs to exchange experiences.
Kevin, Karin, Lucas and Martin (with Rupert and Minka, the housecats) |
