| A+H+F+L, that's us, Angela, Heinz, Felix and Lorenz, living in Germany, in a small town/village, looking for a wonderful Au Pair (native English speaker).
Our children are the most important people in our life, and so when we hire an Au Pair, it is important for us that she has some experience with children. You should know how to keep them safe, you should be a wonderful entertainer with a lot of ideas, you should spend time with our children on the floor, in the sand and between their toys. You should construct wonderful things with legos, make puzzles with them and play board games. Watching TV is *not* part of your activities, instead you would spend a lot of time outdoors with the children.
What we have to offer is a lot of fun with our children, a garden with swing and slide, a very close hill to go sledding in winter, a playground really nearby, fields really nearby, a lot of nature, including a small river that can be a lot of fun in summer, and just an overall nice family who enjoys to go on trips and who would love to show their Au Pair many nice places in our area. Our past Au Pairs will confirm that we are very helping people, we are available whenever you have problems. Also, we are happy to show you how everything works in Germany, and we know a few young people from our area who are excited to practice their English with you and who would love to become friends with our future Au Pair. We can help you with your German and would hope that you'd speak only English to our children in return.
Most things for daily life can be found in our village (it has about 5000 inhabitants, just to give you an idea). For example you find grocery stores, doctors, dentists, pharmacies, a shoe store, a computer store, a photo store, many restaurants, bakeries, butchers, two kindergartens, one school, banks, just to name a few. So for daily life there's not much need to leave our village, and everything is so close that even the children can walk there. For your days off, you can take the bus to see e.g. one of the many museums in Munich, the concentration camp in Dachau, or any other places that interest you. From Munich, you have train connections to whole Germany and Europe. Public transfer is excellent in Germany, many people do not even own a car because of that, so if you like to travel during your vacation time, this makes it really easy.
Interested? Ok, then let's see if you are the right person for us!
Maybe in the past you played only with children when they were happy, but when they were crying or throwing a fit, you took them to their mom. Maybe you took them outdoors only on sunny days. Or you did only the things with them that *you* enjoyed most. If that describes your experience with children, then this job will be *different*. Our boys usually click with our Au pairs really quickly, so you will see that after only a short while, you will be the one they will turn to when they come down with a cold etc. just because they will trust you completely. Of course, there will also be the odd tantrum fits or a cranky child without any clear reason but that is just normal for children at that age. Are you ready for this experience?
We are looking for somebody who would play fun games with our children, and who would teach them many things, one of them being the English language. They grew up with English speakers around them, and they understand and speak English. We do not want a couch potato for our children, but somebody who entertains our children at certain times, and lets them play on their own on other times. You need to be willing to take the kids outdoors for a walk even on rainy days, and willing to build snowmen with them in winter, or set up the pool for them in summer, and do all the other fun things that children love so much.
In the past, we had several Au Pairs, and we can give you references. An Australian who came with the working holiday visa even enjoyed to help me with my online store, selling goods around children. The store's name is "Ideen rund ums Kind", which means "ideas around the child", and this is really what I am selling. This is not expected, but if the visa situation legally allows it, it would be an option for you to make some extra money, if you like.
We have prepared a web page to give interested Au Pairs lots of additional information, and I'll send you a link as soon as we're emailing each other.
We'd really *love* to hear back from you! Take care!
PS: we are currently no paid members, but if you add us to your hotlist, we can get in touch you once we are paid member again.
For visa reasons you need basic German knowledge, unless you are from Europe, from Australia or from New Zealand. There's also a solution for Au Pairs from the US or from Canada |
