| In general we are looking for someone who can help us with the children and by doing housework and possibly some gardening and helping the grand mother who speaks English. Our children go to play school during workdays, so childcare would be proportionally less than, often is the case.
Our house is on the edge of Greater Reykjavik, in a town called Mosfellsbaer. We are surrounded by nature. We are next to a path that goes to the ocean and into the mountains. All services are within walking distance including swimming pools, stables, gym, shops etc. There is a direct bus that goes to the center of Reykjavik. If you are aupairing for us you may have a room in a very nice apartment shared with tenants in the same house, the house next to our apartment or another house, which tends to give you more privacy and more time completely off.
We own a small hotel/guesthouse in another part of Iceland, in Thorshofn, Iceland for which we are looking for volunteers. In this case you could find other work in the village and stay at the hotel for free.
There is the possibility of a combination of these opportunities.
We are open to the possibility of you coming first for a trial period and then extend the stay if there is a mutual interest.
We are looking for someone that is mature (yet preferably between 18 and 26) that does not mind working hard while at work, but also appreciates a definite time off and the lovely environment we have.
You can see some more photographs from the photo gallery sidebar link and our web page, you can also get some extra answers from the in depth interview sidebar button.
If you send us an e-mail please quote your Great Aupair profile number. Please also let us know which opportunity or combination you are most interested in.
