Au Pair's Message to Families

Hi!! My name is Sarah and I'm from the little country Belgium! Although it rains a lot, it is a very nice place to live! I've already spend a year in England as an aupair. I am looking for a new challenge! I looked after an 11 and a 9 year old. I have four younger sisters, two real ones, they are 17 and 19 years old and two foster sisters, they are 6 and 11 years old. So I have a lot of babysitting expererience. I also babysit my baby nephew, he's 6 months old right now. I am also a 'moni' at a 'speeplein'. It's a sort of daycare where we entertain children from 3 untill 15 years old. I have been a member 8 years now. This year I joined the board, so I help run it now. Big responsibility but loads of fun! My hobbies are swimming, basketball, badminton, music. My real passion are movies, but I'm not the type that hangs around the tv all day and does nothing. I also play the piano! I'm not the greatest cook! But I can prepare all the basics. I had to cook a lot with my family in England. But I'm also a quick learner so I don't think it will be a big problem for me. Since I am used to a big family, I pretty much know what has to be done in the household. And since I'm the oldest, I have to help a lot, so I am used to the housework. Since I am a leader at a speelplein, I know a lot of games and activities. Watching tv and computering is also nice for children, but not ten hours a day! I also like to do things outside in the sun with children, like swimming, basketball, badminton, volleyball, riding a bicicle, or just a simple walk. I am however allergic to cats. But if people just have one or two cats, it is okay most of the time. I am not the social nightbutterfly type. I don't like to go to disco's and big parties. I am more the type of girl who enjoys spending time with her friends, just talking, watching a movie, .. When I first meet people I am rather shy but when I get to know them I open up.
