Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family, I am a nineteen year old girl who loves working with children and handicapped more than anything. I grew up in Sweden but I moved to Texas when I was nine, graduated high school with a 3.7 GPA then I decided to do a year of school in Sweden at a Waldorf school to see family and friends and be fluent in Swedish again. I live in Texas now but I love traveling and would love to be a part of the family. I work at a church part time. There I take care of preschool children and love it, and I may take a job assisting a down syndrome child full time. When I was in Sweden I worked as a personal assistant to a handicapped 35 year old man and I still consider him one of my friends forever, it was amazing working with him but...obviously he's not a child but his mentality was such, so it is almost relevant :) I cook dinner at home every day and keep the whole house clean because my mother works a lot. I love animals, warm weather and nature(I'm very environmentally concerned)I really love being outside, and just life in general. Poetry, music, reading, painting, playing, laughing, cooking, friendship, love, beautiful movies, pressing flowers, and much more. And truthfully, I like going out with friends on weekends but it's not a must (I won't know anybody anyways). Okay, and after I complete this program I will have to see where the wind blows me. I will probably come back to Texas (Austin is really an amazing city) and maybe go to cosmetology school and continue on with spa treatments. I really do love working children and handicapped, so who knows?
