| Nanny's Message to Families |
| Hi there! I am looking for a full-time nanny position in a loving family. I have worked with children my whole life in various roles and feel I can draw from these experiences to create a fun, nurturing, and safe environment for any-age child or children. I have served as a nanny for two families, been a babysitter since the age of 10, and have had the privilege to work with children in several professional environments. I was a Psychology major at Middlebury College and graduated Magna Cum Laude, an honor that helped me to earn a fellowship from the National Institutes of Health to study child development. There, I worked for 2 years in the Child and Family Research Center performing research studies in areas such as cognitive, intellectual, and emotional development in youth. I worked with children aged 3 months to 18 years, working first hand with participant families to gather information and establish relationships. I loved it! Further, I interned as a Mental Health Consultant for a Head Start Program, served as Director of an Enrichment Center for kids aged 4-15, was a Camp Counselor for girls aged 10-12, assisted in therapeutic interventions for patients of the Adult, Adolescent and Child Counseling Associates of Bethesda, Maryland, and served as the School Counselor for a local K-8 school of 650 children. Most recently, I have embarked on the difficult task of earning my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver, and am currently working in Admissions at a small college. All together, I feel my experiences in psychology, education, and child care provide me with the unique skill set, character, and sensibility needed to work with children and families as a loving, knowledgeable caretaker who genuinely loves what I do! |
