Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family, My name is Hannah and I am looking for a French-speaking family to care for over this Summer 2010. I am currently a university student majoring in Sociology. I love caring for children and spending time getting to know them. I am the oldest of four girls so there has never been a time in my life where young children were not around and that I was not assisting my mother with them. I also have had many years experience in childcare and doing part-time nanny work. I would be pleased to provide you with references! I am very mature and responsible; I am someone you can trust. I believe that laughter and discipline are both important and can co-exist! I love being creative and active, helping the children learn and expand their imaginations! I look forward to speaking with you! I have a lot of experience in childcare and can offer many references. Last summer I was a part-time nanny for a family with three children. One an infant and the others 3-yr-old twins. I love spending time with children. I encourage outdoors activities and artistic crafts. I have provided childcare for multiple families for many years at a time. The children and I have always become very close and I help them to grow in any way possible. I am always respectful of the parent's rules and preferences for how they want their children cared for. I enjoy being outdoors and staying active. I am very health-conscious and enjoy cooking; although, I am a pescitarian(I do not eat meat, but I do eat fish on occasion). I am taking French at my university, with intermediate French language skills which I hope to expand on with a French speaking family. I am well educated and would love working with children on their schoolwork. I am an artist and an athlete, so I can relate to children with a variety of interests! I love reading, writing, and travel, as well. I think it is important that children learn to value who they are, and I promote that through valuing diversity and beauty in everyone amidst any differences.
