| Au Pair's Message to Families |
| Hello! My name is Julie, I am 28 years old. I am quebecoise however at the age of 2, my family moved to Nova Scotia therefore I also consider myself a maritimer. I am fluently bilingual in French and English. I have a Bachelor's degree from Bishop's university - double major in Psychology and Sociology and a minor in Criminology. I graduated with distinction and was the winner of the University prize in Sociology two years in a row. My employment history is as follows: I was the director of a francosummer camp program in Nova Scotia for several years. After graduating from university, I ran the Lennoxville Youth Center - a space dedicated to ocial needs of 13 to 17 year olds. While there, I coordinated the entire activities calendar including out-of-province trips. I also sought to provide the members with knowledge and tools to become critical thinkers and socially responsible citizens. I moved to Montreal in 2005. Since my arrival, I have worked at the Maison de la famille in Bordeau and at the Maison des jeunes in St-Michel. I currently work for a Division of sports and leisure activities and social development. My title is Developmental Agent. Through my work, I have always sought to make a difference in the communities in which I have resided and although my current position is quite interesting, I am looking for a new type of employment that would enable me to have a direct impact and to bring a positive energy in kids and adolescents' lives. I am energetic and fun, ecclectic and interesting. I have travelled through Europe and Costa Rica, I took dance lessons for 10 years, piano lessons for 5 years and pottery classes for a few years as well. I love the outdoors, kayaking, swimming, running, walking. I also love to watch interesting documentaries that feed my brain and reading is always a pleasure. I believe myself to be a well-balanced individual - friendly, educated, well-raised, well-spoken, down-to-earth and easy to get along with. When I left the youth center in Lennoxville, each youth member wrote me a sentimental letter as my departure gift - these letters attest to my ability to create special relationships with kids and teenagers as well as my ability to make a difference. In my opinion, there is nothing more rewarding than bringing a little sunshine in someone's life - and that is my proposition to you. If you are looking for someone responsible who will take good care of your children, someone who will listen and provide guidance (I am trained in several domains: drugs and addictions counselling, suicide prevention, ual assault counselling, etc.) or even if you are just looking for someone to play with your children - I am what you're looking for!!! |
