Au Pair/Nanny job description

We are looking for a governess/nanny to supervise 3 girls through Broken Hill School of the Air. One child will be going into year 3, one starting school in Kindergarten and 1 starting pre-school. This position requires the governess to manage all aspects of the school room on a day to day basis as per Broken Hill School of the Air Curriculum making sure that the children reach their full potential in all aspects of schooling but not forgetting that the schoolroom can be a fun and happy place to learn in. This position requires alot of organisation, reading through the school work and planning for the days ahead keeping up to date and adding in some sports and arts if time permits. At the end of each week the school work needs to be sent into the teachers with appropriate feedback included. The governess is also required to keep the schoolroom clean and tidy at all times.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

My husband and i run an organic sheep/cattle station in outback NSW. We live 270km's North of Broken Hill (this is our main town) and 110km's South of Tibooburra. We have three lovely girls and alot of animals. We employ other staff during the busy times ann we also have backpackers from time to time. We also run a small B&B business. Our girls enjoy the experience of meeting people from different countries and generally love it when someone new arrives. We are a social family and enjoy attending local events in our area. The governess is most welcome to join us on these occasions. Our girls interests include, swimming(in our in ground pool), riding their horses, motorbikes and push bikes, climbing trees, having picnics out in the paddock, making cubbies, jumping on the trampoline and just using their imagination. The really love the outdoors! They also love helping out around the Station when time permits whether that be helping out in the shed, on water runs or musterring on their horses or motorbikes. This position requires a highly self motivated, enthausiastic, organised person to manage the fun filled school room following the curriculum set by the Broken Hill School of the Air. We are looking for someone that enjoys the outdoors, the country lifestyle and has a general love for children. Someone that can relate to all ages and has a bubbly personality and enjoys socializing, as we do. We will do our best to make you feel welcome and part of our family. The governess needs to be flexible as plans can change here extremely quickly. Weekends are your own unless otherwise specified. So it would be of great advantage if you had your own car. Someone that loves horses and other animals would fit in here very well.
