Au Pair job description

The main job of the Au Pair is to take care of our 2 year old daughter (she is really a darling and honestly very easy to take care of) - playing with her (we have a playing room inside and a large garden) - reading books - playing games, handicraft work - preparing food, having meals together - changing diapers, washing and dressing - do our daughters laundry and ironing - keeping our daughters rooms and stuff tidy Apart from that, some light work in the house will be required, e.g. helping in preparing joint meals, hovering from time to time (the main job is done by a cleaning lady coming every week) etc. You will also bring our daughter to a play group or pick her up from time to time. This can be done by subway, no driving licence required.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear Au Pair, we are a mid-30 family with a cute 2-year old daughter living in the suburbs of Munich/Bavaria. We are both working (mother part-time, father full-time) in Munich and we are looking for a nice, open-minded Au Pair to join us from January 2010 on. We live in an individual house with a large garden. There is enough space for you to live-in: two rooms and your own bathroom are reserved for you in the basement. You will have TV and internet in your room. The subway station is in close walking distance from where it is approx. 15-20 minutes to downtown Munich. Your main tasks are described above. Generally, we are looking for a caring person that will spend time with our daughter and helps us in the household. For us it is very important that you are a positive-minded person, with a "hands-on" mentality. We are looking for somebody who enjoys spending time with children. We can offer you to spend a year in Munich, one of the nicest places in Germany where you can learn German and explore Bavaria and Germany. We would like to integrate you as much as possible in our life: joint excursions, family meals, spending time with us and our friends. We have quite an active lifestyle: we have friends coming to our place very frequently, often with their kids. We also travel a lot - our current au pair traveled with us to France and different places in Germany. We both speak fluent English - we are looking for a native English speaker who can start teaching our daughter English. She will probably go to a bi-lingual Kindergarten in fall 2010.
