Au Pair/Nanny job description

Loving and patient nanny. To take care of a bright 3 year old boy with Delayed progression due to being born 3 months early, and a daughter who is an infant. Son was born 3 months early and suffered some brain damage as a result. He can walk with the aid of a walker and has hearing aids but can hear without them. He is not yet able to talk other than a few basic words but he is in the process of learning sign language to help him comminicate. He is a very active happy little Boy. House work and meal preperation is required. Nanny will have her own very large bedroom with full ensuite bathroom and a king sized bedroom suite.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We live in New Brunswick in a small community with a downeast welcoming enviroment. Hampton is a friendly and beautiful town. Although it is considered a bedroom community we are nestled between two cities Hampton is Easy to make friends is always open to welcome new members of the community. Our son was born at 26 weeks. He weighed a pound. He is a sweet loving boy and is making lots of progress, but is a little behind in his developement. Our son is very easy to take care of as all he wants is someone to play with him. he loves all toys and he is very social espicially with the ladies. Adam attends play school Fulltime and has an assigned TA with him 1 day a week. Our Nanny will be attending pre school with Adam to act as his TA for the rest of the days. Julia will also be attending the same pre school with her brother adam once mommy returns to work in September. ALthough the work day will start early as mommy leaves for work at 7:30am and dad works overseas for 1 month at a time. You will be going to preschool with the children, except for the one day that the TA is provided. This will likely be given to you as a day off, However you might be expected to take the kids to pre school drop them off and then pick them up at the end of the day. For the time they are in preschool you will be able to relax. Because dad works overseas and will not be there every other month it will be expected that our nanny give a little extra help around the house, But for the month that dad is home you will be given some extra time off to make up for it. We also have a daughter Julia Marie, born on sept 12th, she is a very content little girl and spends most of her day sleeping and eating. I will be returning to work September of 2009, and julia will also be attending Pre school with her big brother adam. We have a vehicle for the nanny to drive so really would prefer someone with a drivers license, if not we would be willing to pay for driving lessons as it is critical that the nanny have the ability to drive the kids to and from Day care as well as attend to chores. We will compensate you quite well with all room and board provided free of charge. We will welcome you into our home as another member of our family and ask that you look at us the same way you would your family. although adam requires a little extra care, he really is a joy to be around and always shows love and affection to everyone. Because my husband works overseas for a month at a time so it would be mainly just you and I for the majority of the time. Because of this it would be asked that you be willing to put in a little extra while my husband is away as it is just You and I. We do not want someone who will treat this as a job. But rather look at it as their chosen family. For the month that my husband is at home he really helps out with adam. My husband and Adam are very close and other then the time that adam is at preschool he and my husband are usually hanging out. I have very strong christian values, and I attend church weekly. I am a LDS. We are looking for someone who will treat us as family as we will do the same. We are seeking someone who can make at least a 1 year commitment but would prefer a two year commitment. We also have two jack russel terriers Blossom and Bugsy, however they spend most of the day outside and usually sleep whenever they are in house. So the only care they would require would be to have their food and water bowls topped up.
