Au Pair's Message to Families

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science for Environmental Studies Communication and Culture in Spring 2009. The day I handed in my last paper I got on the train across the country to California with my best friend. We then made our way up the west coast visiting friends. I love to travel. Last summer I worked building a playground and a garden at a school in Cusco, Peru. I can speak very poor spanish at this point. I have a little brother who is 10 years younger than I. I have been a second mother to him for his whole life, so I am a pro at kids. This summer I also babysat for my professor's son in Cape Cod while she was vacationing/writing. I love being outdoors, identifying plants, and teaching kids about ecology. I was a recreation aid at a state park and ran a weekly children's camp where I implemented a junior naturalist program. I would love to help you with your kids, and I am open to living with you, or finding other accommodations. I would love to go to any country and learn a new language or two. I love to clean too, so I'm happy to do housekeeping! I can teach your kids to do their chores too. I am really nice, my friends call me "sweet caroline." I am a considerate guest or housemate. I hope for the opportunity to meet you! I am currently in Berkeley, CA looking for a job or a way to see more of the world. I would really love to learn French and/or Mandarin. I would like to live where there is convenient public transportation, and I am in love with the sun and the ocean. I am unable to pay for an international flight right now because I just graduated from school. I need to be paid enough to pay back my student loans and for health insurance.
