Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family, My name is Lauren and there is nothing more that I would like than to take of your child or children, and would do anything to get the job! I am taking an interim year before I attend Suffolk University in Boston, MA. I love being around children and teaching, and learning from them. I'm able to be structured, but really like to go with the flow. I am easy going, and I laugh a lot I'm also responsible and caring. I attend a boarding school in Vermont, and I am an active member of the dorm council (like student government). Since I am an experienced traveler it is easy for me to stay calm in stressful situations, and adapt to a new culture. I love traveling, photography, and lacrosse. I have been to Thailand, Laos, Burma, Germany, Latvia, England, and Russia. I love learning and immersing myself in other cultures. I love being around children. I have 16 cousins and I am often asked to babysit for them, and I enjoy every minute of it. Over this past summer I went to Latvia to visit the orphanage my aunt owns, it was the most rewarding experience of my life. I got to show the children love and affection, something they does not come easily to them. One of my other favorite hobbies is reading, and I'm embarrassed to say that the Harry Potter series are actually my favorite books. I have read them out loud to 3 of my cousins and we all had the best time. I love museums,painting and any kinds of arts and crafts. I have been interested in photography for a long time but only really started learning about it in the past year. I have some beautiful shots of Thailand Laos and Burma, and took a film photography class at my school. Im super short and look really young, but I'm very experienced for my age. I'm adventurous, outgoing,and always have a smile on my face, and most importantly I absolutely LOVE children. I cannot wait to hear from you! Sincerely, Lauren
