Au Pair/Nanny job description
We are in need of a caregiver for our 72 year old Irish mother who has mild dementia but is in otherwise very good physical condition, as well as our 72 year old father, who is recovering from hip surgery at present (up until this point, he has been mother's primary caregiver). Job would include giving couple their medications, monitoring their daily routines, providing companionship, light house keeping, driving couple to appointments.
Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies
Dear Au Pair, My parents have always lived independently, but due to my father's recent hip break, he is no longer to care for my mother, who has mild dementia, alone. They very much desire to remain in their home, and though we are a large family, this would be an impossibility without outside help at this point. My parents are both Irish with great senses of humour. My father has recently quit smoking, but my mother continues to smoke. They are both extremely friendly and appreciative of any assistance. Their home is in the lovely Beach area of Toronto, and it comfortable and in good condition. There are extra bedrooms for you to stay in and it is right on a streetcar/bus route. For errands, you could have access to my father's car.
