Danish/Australian family living in Luxembourg seeking au pair for two sweet children. We have two kids - Nico (6 1/2) and Ines (5). The kids speak English, Danish, German and Luxembourgish, so you should speak one of those languages. *** We will only consider EU nationals or persons with Luxembourg residency rights (e.g. those registered at the Uni).

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Hi there We are a Danish/Australian family living in Luxembourg. We have two kids - Nico (6 1/2) and Ines (5). Luxembourg is in the middle of Europe - roughly 2 hours by train to Paris, Brussels or Frankfurt. French and German are the main languages spoken here (plus Luxembourgish, which is similar to German). We have a part-time live-out nanny, we would also like an au pair or student to live with us to offer extra help with our kids (our nanny has just had a baby, so has reduced her hours). We love being outdoors and active, so it is important that you also enjoy this. We would the au pair/student to be a flexible pair of extra hands - to come with us on holidays, take the kids to sports/other activities and do some evening/weekend babysitting. The au pair/student would also help keeping the house tidy (dinners, shopping, washing, vacuum cleaning etc.) although we do also employ a cleaner. Ines has developmental delays (particularly with speech - you will have the opportunity to learn some very basic sign language and picture communication). She is very affectionate and fun to be with - although she is more like looking after a two or three year old. Nico is a typical boy - enjoying lego, sports, outdoors, reading etc. The au pair/student would have his/her own room and bathroom and shared use of a car. This is the first time we will have a live-in au pair - we have only had live-out nannies in the past. Till soon!
