Au Pair job description

We have two daughters, but the elder girl is now at university. so the younger, 11 year old is the one we need help with. We are both self-employed, and do work long hours. But our daughter is fairly independent and very sociable. She will either want to stay with friends, or have friends stay. friends as guests make it easier, not harder. We hope you can be good company, help her development and independence. Teach her how to cook for herself for example, but in safety! Both in the kitchen, and in what she cooks and eats. We live in London, and have a weekend home in the English midlands. It is a nice lifestyle. You can come with us at weekends, or stay in London when we go away, and you can have guests, but please, no parties. This is a serious and strict rule. We need light housework and would really appreciate some ironing. We have a lovely cleaner who does the big cleaning.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

I think we've covered both boxes by what we have written in the first box! So what else to say? We don't mind if you smoke. Neither of us do, but as long as you go outside, why not? We do have a really good big garden in London. It's actually smaller in our country house - which should be the other way round. The London area we live in Muswell Hill/Alexandra Palace has lots of au pairs and language schools. If you are a competent driver, we have a small, automatic car and will insure you for that. Automatic cars do help when you are driving on the wrong side of the road! But be warned, London is horrible to drive in. Unless you are used to capital city driving, the buses are better for you. there are lots of them.
