Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family, First let me introduce myself. My name is Sonia and I am 28. I study English at University and at School. We live in a small town called Vila do conde, which is in a beautiful part of North of Oporto in Portugal. I like all kinds of sports, at moment I pratice swimming lessons and tennis with friends. I dont have any brothers or sisters. I study Portuguese language and culture at University and I have a degree in Education. I teach one year Portuguese and two school years English for young Children. In the year of 2008 I went to United kingdom to work like technical translator in a private company. I came back home in July this year 2009. I regularly help my mother with the cooking and housework, and looking after our large garden in which we grow all of the vegetables for our family. At moment I am working in a school center helping chiildren doing homework and teaching Portuguese, English, History, Geography. I really enjoy this job, because I love looking after children. In England I usually take care of children at home. I want to go one of those countries because I can still improve my English, and my career. I would also like to meet new friends and be independent. I think this is the ideal way because I like children and I am used to looking after them.
