| Hi Family!
Im a 19 year old girl from Iceland with 17 months of Au Pair Experience. I was an Au Pair for a family here in Iceland for 7 months and then 9 months in New Zealand ( we spent a month traveling around Canada and The States before moving to New Zealand) The child was 11 months old when i started and almost 2 and a half when i left. I have also been a babysitter since i was 13 years old. I have the most experience in looking after children over 10 months but i have experience in younger children also, so that would be no problem. Over-night baby-sitting and full weekend baby sitting is no problem
I am very open-minded and adventurous. I love going out there and trying new things, for an example while i was in New Zealand i tried Bungy Jumping, Sky diving and swimming with wild dolphin. I love having fun and having a laugh with good people. But i also like just staying at home and watch a good movie or read a good book. My interests include books, music, dancing, movies, make-up, psychology, swimming, animals, going on walks, camping, traveling and of course children And also as a mentioned before just trying new things in general. I speak fluent english and some danish. And of course fluent in Icelandic. I am very interested in learning a new language or teaching you Icelandic.
I do not want to be "just the help" i want to become a part of the family and i want to be treated as such. I want to come with you to family outings and activities but of course i also want to do my own thing as well and see the country and your culture.
I love to have fun with the kids and play but i also know when to be the disciplinarian . Of course i will use whatever parenting techniques that you use as long as it does not include any violence or verbal abuse of any kind. what i find to work best is the 123 rule and time out but like i said i will adjust to you family.
I currently have a valid tourist visa for australia, i went there in june 2009 and stayed 9 days, so i could stay in Australia for up to 11 weeks on that visa |
